Loumarc Signs' owner and founder, Larry Gliozzi, has his routes in advertising where he spent over twenty years of his career. He formed Loumarc as a response to his advertising clients who were frustrated with the poor quality and protracted timeframes of many sign providers to meet their needs. Larry was determined to do better.
Loumarc Signs emerged under Larry's direction as a customer-focused alternative to the average sign producers in North Central New Jersey. Larry Gliozzi even has visions of franchising his operation.
Like many small businesses, Loumarc Signs had growing pains and sought the professional advice and support from a Business Advisor, Bob Baulch of R K Baulch and Associates, LLC.
Bob partnered with Larry to address a number of key issues at Loumarc that included sales and marketing, human resource management, cost containment and financial and business planning. Together, Larry and Bob instituted regular employee meetings, a pay for performance plan and recognition program.
"Bob truly became part of the Loumarc team," says Larry Gliozzi, President of Loumarc Signs. "My original vision was to have Bob fix our problems and be out of the picture within two to three Months. I soon realized that Bob would become an essential part of the team and would provide fresh and unbiased perspective on my Company over the long haul" Working in partnership, Bob and Larry have increased sales between 15-20% over the year prior to Bob's involvement. In addition, critical processes have been totally captured and in some cases improved. The credit management policy has been revised resulting in a significant improvement in cash flow and payables being lowered to around 45 days on average from historical levels above 90 days. While the Company is not where it wants to be 2005 looks to be a breakeven year.
